Abstract/Summary:
This thesis describes the design and implementation of a junior-level embedded microcontrollers laboratory course for the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). This is a one-credit course labeled EE3176 "Laboratory for EE3376", and is the lab-based supplement to the three-credit lecture-based course, EE3376 "Microprocessors I". The main focus of these courses is to introduce students to the architecture, programming and interfacing of microprocessor systems, with special emphasis on the hardware/software interface. Both EE3176 and EE3376 are required by the UTEP Electrical Engineering Department for all undergraduate students. All students taking these courses will have had basic electrical engineering (EE) courses, including Digital Systems Design I and C Programming. (Abstract shortened by UMI.)...
