As computer software was constantly introduced into the engineering test work, it is necessary to develop new software products in the area of engineering. So the success of the TIMS product development is a major technical innovation in engineering. The meaning of the research and development (R&D) of TIMS product includes:1. Helping various departments to further improve the mechanism of the existing road test management.2. Studying how to use of computer information management technology to realize the information sharing and system integration at both the site laboratory and central laboratory two different levels, thus saving a lot of R&D cost and unnecessary consumption of various resources.3. Collecting data using sensors, remote data transmission using the Internet, using computers to analyze the final data and make compositive application, attempting to promote the use of the Internet of Things technology in the area of engineering test work in highway industry.4. Achieving the standardization of the road test information in the whole province, so to progress rapid information retrieval with information technology more conveniently. The R&D this time completed the following work:1. Alteration of the hardware and software of the automatic test data acquisition of the existing test data processing system TDPS2. Adaptive alteration of the management functions of the existing management information system in Central Laboratory for testing of management functions such as MIS.3. The unification of data structure in TDPS and MIS.4. Developing a new test data management system for various departments on the basis of TDPS and MIS.At last, the TIMS is successful developed through the strict implementation of the guidance for the requirements of software product development, the completion of requirements analysis, the systems analysis and other steps.
