Research And Realization On The Virtual Laboratory Of Engineering Drawing Based On VRML

With constant developments in computer technology and internet, virtual experiment has fastly becomes avaliable in the current education practice. The application of virtual experiment has significantly changed traditional education approach.In this paper. I first review the current development in virtual lab technology and basic principles of virtual lab. Then I analyze and compare several major techniques in Web3D. Among them. VRML technique is an open platform interpretive computer language which describes virtual three dimension space. It has several comparative advantages to other 3-D modeling languages, such as simpler, more precise and smaller volume. Especially, it can smoothly interact with monitor to produce realistic view. Based on VRML methodology and with help of 3-D modeling software Pro/Engineer, this paper builds a 3-D visual equipment model. The model incorporates main components and parts in engineering drawing curriculum. It also adds the pertinent animation function and interactive function. In order to make the file of virtual model smaller, and easy to transmit through network, an optimization of the model is researched and solid suggestions are put forward.The paper analyzes the functional demand of Virtual Laboratory of engineering drawing. It uses three-layer Browser/Server systematic structure, establishs systematic framework, and basically realizes the function of engineering drawing course experiment education.Finally, a summary and prospect of this thesis are given.Given author's own ability and the restrictions of time and environmental condition, this Laboratory has a lot of room to further enhancement and perfection. More in-depth experiments will be implemented in the near future.
