Network-based Virtual Laboratory technology had been developed into a mature. However, it's necessary to study virtual laboratory network technology supporting a large amount of numerical computation and real-time interaction. This dissertation combined the powerful numerical calculating capabilities of MATLAB with Web technology, and designed a networking virtual laboratory of 'Fundamentals of Control Engineering'. The networking virtual experiments could come into effect soon.'Fundamentals of Control Engineering' Networking Virtual laboratory (CVNETLAB) was an integrated virtual laboratory with Fundamentals of Control Engineering experiments for students majoring in mechanics and instrument. The system was a remote open virtual laboratory based on Internet. It adopted the B/S architecture and Web programming technology. It was a transplantable, robust and secure networking virtual environment. Multi-user could carry out experiments at the same time via CVNETLAB.The main contributions of the dissertation were as follows:1. Based on acquiring knowledge of Networking Virtual laboratory and investigating the virtual laboratory development status, it analyzed the requirements of CVNETLAB Networking Virtual laboratory, confirmed the basic architecture andrelated key technology of CVNETLAB------Browser/Server(B/S) architecture andWeb programming technology, and constructed the networking virtual laboratory environment;2. Using the powerful numerical calculating and plotting capabilities of MATLAB, it exploited the correlative virtual simulation experiments working on the Server which implemented the dynamic interaction with Clients through MATLAB Web server and IIS (Internet Information Server). The system realized the remote virtual laboratory functions of CVNETLAB simply by using IE without installing MATLAB and its components in the Clients. By the mean, the users could achieve the aim of carrying out remote open and interactive experiments via the network;3. It studied the security problems of CVNETLAB, presented the feasible solutions to improve the security of CVNETLAB from the perspectives of hardware and software, and adopted the corresponding safety precautions. The system worked well, which proved the feasibility of networking virtual laboratory. Therefore, it should be widely used and worthy of promotion.
