Abstract/Summary:
Female entrepreneurs in Third World countries are using modern information and communication technologies to rise above domestic barriers and overcome political and economic elites while enhancing investment opportunities. An investigation into India's and Ghana's female entrepreneurial force reveals that using e-commerce and Internet technologies reaching global markets increases their independence and wealth. Female entrepreneurs have also been found to use privatized loans from specialized female oriented institutions as well as government regulations expanding their socio and economic status.
