Teen mothers often face a range of challenges and both they and their children are likely to benefit from programs designed to reduce these challenges. The purpose of this project was to design a program to support teen mothers, to identify potential funding sources, and to write a grant to fund the program for the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center. The 3-month program is designed to provide educational, employment, and preventative health information workshops and individual case management services and support for teen mothers, and, as needed for teen fathers, and their families. Implications for social work practice are discussed. The actual submission and/or funding of this grant were not required for the successful completion of this project. |
