Entre familia (among family): A parent training and social support program for Latino families. A grant proposal

Evidence suggests that participation in parent education and social support programs helps decrease child maltreatment risk factors. The purpose of this project was to enhance an existing child abuse prevention program, seek potential funding sources to implement the program, and write a grant to fund the program enhancement for the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center. The program was designed using best practices found in the literature. The program enhancement is a group with parenting education, social support and parent child interaction components. Social work implications are discussed. The actual submission and/or funding of this grant was not a requirement of successful project completion.
