| The purpose of this project was to design a military sexual trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder program for women veterans, to identify a potential funding source, and to complete a federal grant application to fund a program for U.S. Women Veterans in Orange County, California. The proposed program incorporates evidence-based therapies to improve the mental health stability of women veterans following their post-deployment. The program is aimed to provide women with various forms of treatment from individual and group therapies including vocational training, education, research, civilian readjustment, work therapy and community outreach. The goal of Operation Women First is to provide effective mental health services in a nurturing and safe environment that increases greater self-determination and ultimately reintegrate women veterans to their communities to live and contribute in a constructive manner following post-deployment from Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. This grant was written to meet the requirements for the funding from the Department of Veterans Affairs Grant and Per Diem Program. Actual submission and/or funding of the grant was not required for the successful completion of this grant proposal. |
