Hotel is a diversified service industry that can provide customers with accommodation,catering,entertainment and leisure.It is an indispensable choice for people to travel.With the development of the tourism industry and the increase in business travel,the demand for the hotel industry has continued to grow.However,the hotel industry has suffered a lot in recent years.The government’s corruption ban has curbed the consumption of public funds;the domestic market has gradually increased competition pressure.In terms of cost,with the increase in prices,various operating costs of hotels have also increased year by year.As a traditional star hotel,WZ Hotel also faces the above problems.Therefore it is essential to adjust the hotel’s operating strategy and control the cost management.This article first expounds the research background and significance,research ideas and methods,and summarizes the literature review at home and abroad.Then it expounds the relevant theories used in the article and builds a framework for the demonstration of subsequent cases.Afterwards,this article combines theory with real cases,based on the value chain,analyzes the current cost management status of WZ Hotel,and refines its value chain into procurement,service and sales links,and finds that there are suppliers in the procurement link Weak management,irrational purchasing plan,immature procurement inquiry mechanism,and rigorous procurement acceptance;etc.In the service link,there are problems such as backward room cost accounting methods,unclear catering cost accounting objects,rising human costs and weak staff cost management;In the sales link,there are problems such as delayed construction of the network platform,decentralization of the external value chain,and unreasonable adjustment of the cost management in the off-peak season.After further analyzing its causes,it proposes corresponding improvement suggestions from the perspective of the value chain to avoid blind pursuit of low-cost and inaccurate cost accounting issues,which is conducive to the hotel’s scientific management of costs in the future development.I also hope that this article can provide a broader idea for other hotel cost management.
