| On December 31,2015,the ASEAN Econo mic Communit y was for ma lly establis hed.The purpose of the establishme nt of ASEAN Economic Communit y is to safeguard the rights and interests of ASEAN countr ies by appearing as a whole in internat iona l excha nges on the basis of common interests and regio nal ident it y.If the ASEAN community has la id the economic background for b ilateral trade between the two countr ies and guided the directio n of b ilateral trade,then t he "one belt " init iat ive in recent years and the econo mic corridor construct ion under the "one belt and one road" will bridge the trade developme nt between the two countr ies.As the ma in countr ies alo ng t he line,Laos and China’s economic and trade cooperat ion has been expanding.Especia lly since 1990,China and Laos have agreed to upgrade b ilateral relat ions to comprehe ns ive strategic partners,deepening polit ica l mutua l trust,and bilateral trade cooperatio n has stepped up to a new le vel.Over the past 20 years,bilateral trade between Laos and China has sho wn a rapid growth tre nd.According to statist ics,the bilatera l trade volume between Laos and China in 1998 was only 21.8 millio n US dollars,of which,Laos exported 5.9 millio n US dollars to China,Laos imported 15.9 million US dollars fro m China and reac hed 2.34 b illion US dollars by 2018,of which Laos exported 1.35 billio n US dollars to China and Laos imported 99.9 million US dollars fro m China.Billio n dollars.In t he past 28 years,b ilateral trade volume between Laos and China has increased 107 times.Based on the fra mework of ASEAN Economic Community,this paper stud ies the deve lopme nt trend o f Laos and China,which is d ivided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduct ion,whic h ma inly inc ludes the background of the top ic,literature review,the fra mework of the paper and the ma in inno vat ions.The second chapter is the ana lys is of t he influe nce mechanis m o f "o ne belt and one road" on the bilateral trade of "old China ".This part mainly expounds the comparison of b ilateral trade before and after the "one belt and one way" init iat ive,enr iches the for m of bilateral trade,the potent ia l for b ilateral trade develop ment,and the challe nges faced by bilatera l trade.Among t he m,the cha lle nges facing b ilateral trade under the "one belt and one way" fra mework are divided into t he challe nges brought about by the "margina l effect " and the cha llenges brought about by domest ic economic backwardness in Laos.The third chapter ma inly a na lyses t he current s it uat ion o f bilateral trade between Lao and China,whic h is divided into the following fo ur parts: the histor ical retur n of b ilateral trade between Lao and China,the ma in achieve ments,the ma in characterist ics and the economic basis of develop ment.The four th chapter makes an emp ir ica l ana lys is o f the influe nc ing factors of bilatera l trade in Laos and China from t he perspective of "one belt and one road".It ma inly expla ins the factors in the emp ir ica l mode l,expla ins the setting o f the model and data sources,descript ive statist ics analys is,emp ir ica l results regress ion and robustness test.The fift h chapter is the ma in conc lus io ns and policy recomme ndations,inc luding further strengthe ning bilateral trade cooperation between Laos and China,reducing trade costs between Laos and China,improving bilatera l trade defic it and strengt hening cooperation between "Lao-China " enterprises and universit ies or research inst itut io ns.Fina lly,accord ing to the research in this paper,we can draw the fo llowing conclus ions :(1)the proposal o f "one belt and one road" init iat ive has greatly promoted the developme nt of bilatera l trade.(2)the reduction of trade cost is t he ma in p urpose of imp le me nt ing the polic y of "one be lt and one road" and an important means to enha nce the trade leve l o f "o ld China ".(3)the deve lopme nt potent ial o f b ilateral trade under the "one belt and one road" is huge. |
