Nowadays,as information and communication technologies are widely applied to multiple fields and e-commerce develops at an unprecedented rate,the e-commerce market has basically become saturated in most large or medium-sized cities in China.However,in economically underdeveloped rural areas,e-commerce has an enormous market.Meanwhile,developing e-commerce in rural areas helps to expand aggregate demand,so that China’s rural areas have become the targeting markets of e-commerce in recent years.As China Post has long been targeted at rural areas and surrounding towns,the invasion of e-commerce companies have seriously threatened the development of China Post(S Branch)in the rural market.According to statistics released by the State Post Bureau,the market share of China Post in rural and remote areas is declining every year.Additionally,China Post(S Branch)is also facing the challenge of corporate transformation.It has become a prioritized task for China Post to consider how they can achieve sustainable development at the phase of transition.This dissertation first explains the background and significance of this research.Based on the development conditions of domestic and foreign rural e-commerce companies,the paper analyzes the development stages of rural e-commerce in the U.S.and the U.K.,and then introduces the current rural e-commerce development situations in China.Besides,through a series of analytical frameworks,such as “SWOT Analysis”,“Porter’s Five Force Model”,“PEST Model”,and “4Ps” marketing theories,the paper analyzes the rural e-commerce development in S Province and further examines its internal and external environment.According to the analysis results,the paper put forward a new strategic development plan of rural e-commerce for the China Post(S Branch).Finally,in order to ensure the successful implementation of the strategic plan,the paper further put forward more supportive measures.It proposes that China Post(S Branch)should make full use of its business channels,establish a sustainable supply chain that supports the development of rural e-commerce,strengthen staff training and improve service performance,integrate multiple social resources,and improve the "Integrated Delivery Service System",in order to expand its business and become the leading brand of rural e-commerce in China. |
