Manufacturing is the pillar of a country's economy, reflects the country's productivity level, and represents a country's international competitiveness and comprehensive strength. However,in recent years, under the background of the global financial crisis, the rise of international trade protectionism, the volatility of resource prices, and the rapid rise in labor costs in China, the development prospects of China's manufacturing industry are grim and urgently need to increase productivity.Solving these serious problems depends on the development of producer services. There is a strong correlation between producer services and manufacturing, and the agglomeration of producer services can provide manufacturing with knowledge, technology, human resources and financial support. Therefore,it is the most urgent choice for China to boost the productivity of manufacturing by agglomeration of producer services. In addition, the construction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt is one of China's four major development strategies. While driving regional economic growth,it has also played a role as a demonstration belt for improving manufacturing productivity. Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to explore the impact of the agglomeration of producer services in the Yangtze River Economic Zone on manufacturing productivity and compare regional differences against the backdrop of changes in economic development patterns. From the perspective of differences in the agglomeration methods of producer services, this paper uses panel data of 108 prefecture-level cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2003 to 2016(except ChaoHu City,TongRen City, and BiJie City)to construct a spatial Durbin panel model. An empirical analysis of the effects of specialization and diversification of producer services on manufacturing productivity has provided policy recommendations for various regions of the Yangtze RiverEconomic Belt to adapt to local conditions and implement industrial policies.Fiestly,This article summarizes the existing relevant literature and data, defines the concept of connotation and extension of producer services, the concepts of manufacturing productivity, and combs the relevant theories of industrial division of labor, industrial relevance, and industrial agglomeration.In-depth analysis of the mechanism of the effects of specialized agglomeration and diversification on manufacturing productivity.Secondly, the concentration degree of specialization and diversification of producer services in the Yangtze river economic belt is calculated and analyzed, and the productivity of manufacturing in the Yangtze river economic belt is measured and analyzed.Thirdly, the spatial Durbin panel model is constructed, and the influence of the specialization and diversification of producer services on the productivity of manufacturing industry is empirically analyzed under the adjacency matrix and geographical matrix. The robustness test is carried out by replacing the spatial weight matrix with the adjacent matrix and the geographic matrix. Finally, the conclusion of this article is drawn and corresponding policy recommendations are put forward. The main conclusions of this paper are summarized as follows: First, for the Yangtze River Economic Belt as a whole, the specialized agglomeration of producer services has significantly improved manufacturing productivity;by region, the specialized agglomeration of cities in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River Economic Belt has significantly increased Manufacturing productivity is the strongest downstream, followed by the middle reaches, and the weakest upstream.Second, for the Yangtze River Economic Belt as a whole, the diversified agglomeration of producer services has a negative correlation effect with manufacturing productivity;by region, the diversification of cities in the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River Economic Belt has a negative correlation effect with manufacturing productivity, the upstream is the highest, followed by the middle reaches. While the diversified concentration of producer services in the downstream has significantly increased manufacturing productivity.Third, for the Yangtze River Economic Belt as a whole, the level of economic development, fixed asset investment, foreign direct investment, the degree of development of transportation, and the level of informatization all have a significant role in promoting manufacturing productivity. However, there is a negative correlation between human capital level and manufacturing productivity. In terms of different regions, the level of economic development, investment in fixed assets, the degree of development of transportation, and the level of informatization all have aboosting effect on the downstream area, midstream area and upstream area.Foreign direct investment has significantly increased manufacturing productivity in the downstream area.Although the midstream area and upstream area have positive results.but the effect is not significant. The level of human capital has a negative correlation effect with manufacturing productivity in the downstream area, midstream area and upstream area. And the negative effect gradually enhances in the downstream area, midstream area and upstream area. Finally,on the basis of the above empirical conclusions, from how to lay out and improve the level of specialized agglomeration and diversification in the Yangtze River Economic Belt as a whole and in the downstream area, midstream area and upstream area, strengthen the industrial links between producer services and manufacturing. To provide the system, infrastructure and other industrial environment support for the agglomeration of producer services and other aspects of the relevant policy recommendations to promote the improvement of manufacturing productivity.
