As China's economy gradually changes from speed-type growth to quality-type growth, from factor-driven industrial development to innovation-driven industrial development,it shows that China's economy has entered a stage of transformation and upgrading. But on the whole, the overall proportion of China's service industry in the economy and the total factor productivity of the manufacturing industry still have a large gap with the developed countries. As an important part of the service industry, the producer service industry plays the role of "promoter" in the development of the service industry structure, and has the characteristics of high technology content, high knowledge density and high degree of specialization. It not only rapidly improves manufacturing The added value of industrial products has gradually become the source of power for regional economic growth.China's manufacturing industry as a whole is mainly developed with low technology added value, high resource dependence and labor-intensive.With the deterioration of the environment, the exhaustion of resources and the rise of labor costs, the development of the manufacturing industry has been seriously hindered. To break through this bottleneck,it is necessary to change from "quantity" to "quality" and improve the position of manufacturing in the global value chain, and the total factor productivity of manufacturing is a representative indicator to measure the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing. This article takes Guangdong Province as the starting point, measures the agglomeration degree of producer service industry through two dimensions, and analyzes its influence on total factor productivity of manufacturing industry from the theory. Then use the data from 2008-2018 of 21 cities in Guangdong Province to conduct empirical analysis by constructing panel data.conclusion as below:(1)Overall,the level of agglomeration of producer services in Guangdong is still low,and there are large differences between industries and regions;the sub-sectors of producer services have different degrees of agglomeration in cities: the financial industry has emerged in Guangdong As a result of the generalization of specialization, the leasing and business service industries have not had an aggregation effect in terms of specialization. Both Guangzhou and Shenzhen's productive service industries are clustered. In addition, the financial industry and real estate industry also show regional diversification. In recent years,Guangzhou,Heyuan,Jiangmen,Yangjiang and Zhanjiang have also witnessed a clear diversification of productive service industries.(2)From the results of the EGLS regression model established by the aggregation of producer services in Guangdong Province to the total factor productivity of manufacturing industries.Specialized agglomeration and diversified agglomeration have significantly improved the total factor productivity of the manufacturing industry, indicating that the scale effect, competition effect and knowledge spillover between the same and different industries have promoted the improvement of productivity.Furthermore, through the regression of thedecomposition of total factor productivity,it was found that this promoting effect was mainly achieved by increasing the rate of technological progress. Moreover, specialized agglomeration and diversified agglomeration promote the improvement of total factor productivity of the manufacturing industry through internal synergy.
