Agriculture is an important industry, which is related to national economy and people's livelihood.Agricultural economy is also the basis of socio-economic development, and the prerequisite for promoting the growth of the economy is to maintain the healthy and stable development of that.Based on the theoretical research of domestic and foreign scholars, firstly this paper constructs the agricultural economic development evaluation index system in China's provinces, and uses the entropy weight method and weighted function method to analyze the agricultural economic development level of China and its eastern, central and western regions, from 2000 to 2018.Besides,by using Thiel index, exploratory spatial data analysis and panel regression model,it also revealed the provincial regional differences,spatial-temporal evolution patterns and driving mechanism of agricultural economic development in China. This paper is aimed to provide scientific basis for promoting the urban-rural gap and regional coordinated development in China, and to provide a reference for the government, the relevant national agricultural and the rural management departments to formulate regional development policies. The results showed:?From the overall development level, the level of agricultural economic development in China and its eastern, central, and western regions had improved to varying degrees from 2000 to 2018,and it could be roughly divided into the period of continuous fluctuations from 2000 to 2011 and the basic stabilization phase from 2012 to 2018,and an obvious descending from east to west was shown.? From the perspective of development differences, the National Tyre Index was in a downward trend of fluctuations from 2000 to 2018,and its changing process corresponds to the national agricultural economic development index. The inter-regional gap was the main reason in driving the development of China's agricultural economy. However, after 2012,the intraregional gap had gradually expanded, and in 2018,it had become the main reason for the regional differences, which was also likely to dominate the change in the total national difference. In recent years, the differences in agricultural economic development in the central region had been increasing, while the eastern and western regions had been decreasing.? From the evolution of spatial-temporal patterns,China's agricultural economic development had obvious spatial agglomeration characteristics, and its spatial pattern was more complicated from 2000 to 2012,while from 2012 to 2018.The LISA showed, the H-H agglomeration area was mass distributed in the eastern, and the L-L agglomeration area was in a band shape in northwestern.Besides only Anhui province and Sichuan province were located in the L-H agglomeration area and H-L agglomeration area, respectively.?From the perspective of influencing factors, this paper selected the regional fixed space panel SLM model as the explanatory model of the influencing factors of regional differences in agricultural economic development. The regression results showed, economic growth was the primary driving factor for regional agricultural economic development. Its role was obviously greater than multiple cropping index and precipitation, while industrialization and urbanization had certain negative impacts on regional agricultural economy. Moreover, the agricultural economic development had obvious spatial dependence and spillover, which could produce polarization effects across regions. Finally, this paper put forward, focusing on improving regional agricultural output efficiency and agricultural modernization, and paying attention to the sustainability of regional agricultural production were the key to improve the level of agricultural economic development. In the end, this paper discussed the driving mechanism of regional agricultural economic growth by the differences and concentration of agricultural economic development.
