| Quality and efficiency improvement of tourism industry is one of the important issues in tourism science researches under the new normal of China’s economy.It is of great theoretical and practical significance to study the spatial and temporal evolution process and driving mechanism of regional tourism industry efficiency from the perspective of evolutionary economic geography and its "structure-process" analysis.This paper took the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze river from 2001 to 2017 as the research object,constructed a multi-factor integrated regional tourism industry efficiency evaluation index system,used DEA model to calculate and deconstruct its tourism industry efficiency,and analyzed its differential trend with Theil index.Then,the spatial-temporal evolution process of regional tourism industry efficiency was explored by using Malmquist index,spatial variation function,ellipse parameter of standard deviation and Markov chain.Finally,the geographical detector model was used to test the driving factors and significance of the spatial-temporal evolution of regional tourism industry efficiency.Besides,this paper also tried to analyze the driving mechanism of the spatial-temporal evolution of regional tourism industry efficiency.The research found that:(1)In different spatial scales,the tourism industry efficiency of urban agglomerations in the middle reaches of theYangtze river is far from the optimal production frontier,and in most cases,the technical efficiency has a greater inhibition on the comprehensive efficiency.There are obvious peak fluctuations in the differences of regional tourism industry efficiency.Intra-regional differences contribute more to the total difference,but the sources of differences tend to be the skewness of inter-regional differences.(2)The total factor productivity of regional tourism industry presents an optimization trend of different degrees.The optimization source presents an obvious bias of technological progress,but the change of scale efficiency presents a negative trend,which hinders the improvement of total factor productivity to some extent.(3)The random component of spatial variation in regional tourism industry efficiency continues to decrease.The spatial correlation caused by structural spatial differentiation continues to expand.The spillover effect of core region to marginal region tends to be enhanced.But the self-organization of spatial pattern evolution is obviously weakened.Besides,the cold spots range gradually reduces and gathers while the efficiency hot spots spread from scattered to planar and banded.Additionally,the centripetal force and agglomeration trend of the spatial pattern evolution of regional tourism industry have been continuously strengthened,and the core evolution has shown a movement trajectory of southeast orientation.(4)The evolution of regional tourism industry efficiency is mainly based on time-gradientchange,which conforms to the characteristics of inertia evolution.The possibility of transition mutation is low,and there may be certain path dependence.(5)All of these,the strength and spatial heterogeneity of the internal and external environment at different stages,the diffusion of tourism resource factors allocation,technology and management,and the dynamic mechanism generated by the combination of tourism supply and demand,drive the spatial-temporal evolution of regional tourism industry efficiency,but it is important to note that policy factors drive the whole process of evolution.The regional tourism industry should pay more attention to the role of innovation drive,incorporate spatial linkage and interactivity into the policy formulation process,and improve the systematization and homogeneity of the allocation of tourism resource elements,so as to promote the development of the regional tourism industry to improve quality and efficiency. |
