In recent years, the imbalance of regional economic development has gradually appeared, which makes the research focus of domestic and foreign scholars shift to regional economic development differences and dynamic mechanism, and the research on regional economic differences has gradually become a hot topic.Shandong Province is located in the eastern coastal area of our country and its total economic volume ranks the forefront of our country, which has an important influence in the regional economic pattern. With the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure and the continuous expansion of the degree of opening up to the outside world, the regional economy is developing rapidly, and the economic differences between prefectures and cities are becoming increasingly prominent. The regional economic development of Shandong Province has typical characteristics. The economic development of the eastern coastal area is relatively fast, the economic development of the central and western regions is relatively backward, and the spatial differences of regional economic development are constantly expanding. The pattern of regional economic development in Shandong Province has certain similarities with the pattern of regional economic development in China. Therefore, studying the differences and driving factors of regional economic development in Shandong Province is not only of great significance to the regional economic development of Shandong Province, but also can provide reference and guidance for the coordinated development of regional economy in other provinces, cities and China. In this paper,17 cities of Shandong Province from 2008 to 2017 are selected as the research object, and the characteristics and driving factors of spatial and temporal evolution of regional economic pattern in Shandong Province are analyzed by combining qualitative analysis method with quantitative analysis method.First of all,the present situation of economic development in Shandong Province is described in this paper.Secondly, taking the GDP and per capita GDP of each prefecture and city as the measure index, the standard deviation, relative growth rate, coefficient of variation,Gini coefficient and Theil index of the city economy in Shandong Province from 2008 to 2017 are calculated and analyzed, and the regional economic difference of Shandong Province is gradually becoming smaller. After that, accounting for the comprehensive development level of the regional economy of Shandong Province from 2008 to 2017,comparing the spatial differentiation of the economic development level in different cities and regions, and to carrying out spatial analysis of thecross-section economic data of 2008,2011,2014 and 2017 based on the ArcGIS software,it is found that the regional economy of Shandong Province shows the trend of decreasing from east to west in space, and the pattern of "one body and two wings" in the north and south. Finally, the fixed effect model is used to analyze the influence index of Shandong Province's economic development,to explore the driving factors that affect the evolution of regional economic pattern in Shandong Province, and to obtain the main driving factors that affect the evolution of its spatial pattern, including the industrial level, industrial structure, human capital and so on.Based on the previous analysis, the paper puts forward some suggestions of adjusting the industrial structure, strengthening the contribution of human capital, giving full play to the role of government and promoting the development of regional urbanization in order to promote the coordinated development of regional economy in Shandong Province.
