Since the establishment of China's first city commercial bank(CCB)called Shenzhen Urban Cooperative Bank in 1995,China's CCBs have come a long way in the past 23 years.After developing for more than 20 years,the number of CCBs has exceeded 130,and the profit growth experienced a quadruple increase.Meanwhile,the traditional financial landscape has been broken due to the sudden emergence of internet finance,and this has gradually powered the formation of mixed operation model,which led to fierce competition among five nationalized banks,rural financial institutions,foreign banks,joint-equity banks and local CCBs.In addition,CCBs are facing a situation with less operating agency and poor brand effect.Moreover,various CCBs emphasis the corporate business and innovating services in their development strategy,and as the customer-oriented and market-driven front office marketing layer,client managers occupy a significant position in the bank market-featured management.This article is based on the literature analysis and chose the client managers of CCBs as the research object,using qualitative and quantitative analysis with interview and questionnaire surveys to research and build the model of client managers' essential competencies.Statistical comparison is based on data from more than 20 competencies and then the model is built,which could be put into practice in human resource management especially the area of performance management,training and recruitment and configuration,this could guide the practical human resource management.Compared with the research on the theoretical level of the competency model,this article focuses more on the combination of theoretical research and practical application,the main purpose is to provide concrete scientific basis for the recruitment,process management,etc.of the recruitment of client managers in CCBs,comparing with the construction of the competency model,this article emphasizes pursuing practical guidance.
