| With the simultaneous development of the theory and practice of the business ecosystem,more and more scholars have found that the effective governance of the business ecosystem by the keystone plays a key role in the healthy development of the ecosystem.In the development of business ecosystems,only a few companies can achieve healthy development of the business ecosystem through effective governance and become industry giants,and most enterprises have encountered failure because they have not properly governed the business ecosystem.By combing the relevant literature on business ecosystem governance,scholars pointed out that resource was the foundation of business ecosystem governance,and that keystone could achieve many benefits through continuous resource sharing from the Resource-based perspective.However,these studies have not paid attention to the keystone’ resource context when it sharing within the ecosystem.Due to the limited resources of the keystones,they often face the dilemma of resources in the business ecosystem governance.If keystones share more resources with niches which can influence self-business development;on the contrary,sharing fewer resources can weaken links with other organizations.Then,how the keystones should govern the business ecosystem can avoid the dilemma of resources.Therefore,this paper introduces the resource orchestration perspective,and through comparing a successful and a failed business ecosystem governance case to further reveal how the keystones should successfully govern the business ecosystem through resource orchestration in different resource contexts.The study found that in the process of business ecosystem governance,the resource context of keystones is an important factor in the business ecosystem governance.Keystones need to choose appropriate governance strategies based on their own resource context to further guide the corresponding resource actions and achieve healthy development of the business ecosystem.This paper proposes a successful theoretical model of business ecosystem governance through the comparison of a success and a failure case.Under the context of resource sufficient,the keystones should implement the incubating and integrating of two resource actions under the guidance of the keystone strategy to form efficiency capabilities;In the context of resource shortages,keystones should implement the acquiring and redeploying of two resource actions under the guidance of the symbiosis strategy to form flexible capabilities.In order to increase the scientificity and accuracy of the research conclusions,this paper uses the failure cases to conduct a preliminary test of the research conclusions.This process not only reveals the importance of resource actions in the process of business ecosystem governance,but also enriches the research context of business ecosystem governance.To provide an inspiration of business ecosystem governance for the keystones in the future. |
