With the strengthening of the internationalization trend of business operations,the ways and channels for enterprises to create value have become diverse,and the phenomenon that enterprises’ business operations are not limited to one production link is becoming more and more common.It will also face a more complex and varied external environment.In this context,the construction and development of the enterprise value chain has become one of the important issues to be considered in the subsequent development of the enterprise,and the discussion on the enterprise value chain has also begun to attract the general attention of the theoretical community.However,most of the existing researches use a relatively static way to reveal the importance of value chain thinking for enterprise development.For enterprises in a complex and ever-changing external environment,static analysis methods cannot meet the needs of the external environment and enterprise resources.Many restrictions have led to the disconnection between theoretical research and practical practice,so it is even more necessary to explore the issue of enterprise value chain from a dynamic perspective.At the same time,existing research has less research on the value chain change process itself;and since the expansion and extension of the value chain will have a positive impact on corporate performance and can bring about industrial upgrading and transformation,how to achieve better value? Chain extension and expansion,and how to promote the value chain extension to the enterprise performance becomes a more fundamental and problem to be solved,and the current antecedents and process research on this part are even rarer.In this context,this paper attempts to use a dual case study from the perspective of process and dynamics to try to explore and answer the following research questions: how to rationally plan the resource integration process in different development stages of the enterprise,so as to realize the extension of the enterprise value chain and promote Increase in corporate performance? How can enterprises better realize the transformation of enterprise value chain extension to enterprise performance? Specifically,this paper takes photovoltaic enterprises as the research object.Firstly,it analyzes how the resource identification and resource allocation in three different periods(emergence period,initial stage and growth period)of enterprises become the key influencing factors of enterprise value chain extension.The process and mechanism of the resource integration process on the extension of the valuechain,and at the same time,the process of further transforming to enterprise performance,and then the process model of “resource integration process – enterprise value chain extension –enterprise performance” is further refined;Secondly,the analysis of dynamic capabilities is added to further analyze the transformation mechanism from enterprise value chain to enterprise performance.The results of the case analysis are as follows: Firstly,in the three different periods of the new stage of enterprise innovation,resource identification and resource allocation play an important role,and through the alternation and mutual promotion of resource identification and resource allocation,It will have a key impact on the initial positioning of the enterprise value chain and the subsequent extension of the value chain,which in turn will affect the performance of the enterprise.Secondly,in a complex and volatile external environment,the extension of the enterprise value chain will better transform into corporate performance through the improvement of the dynamic capabilities of the enterprise and the change of the dimensional combination.Thirdly,the four-stage model of the enterprise value chain extension mechanism and its transformation mechanism to enterprise performance based on the resource integration process is summarized.It makes up for the shortcomings of existing research on the antecedents and extension paths of enterprise value chain,reveals the fundamental motivation for photovoltaic enterprises to establish their dominant position in the process of value chain extension,enriches the research on the theme of value chain and dynamic capability,and simultaneously promotes strategic emerging industries.It is of great guiding significance for Chinese enterprises to carry out related business activities around resource integration to increase value creation and acquisition capabilities as well as dynamic capabilities,thereby improving enterprise performance.
