The “2014-2015 Food Assessment and Development Report” pointed out that the total loss of waste in post-production storage,transportation,and processing of grain in China amounts to more than 35 billion kilograms per year,which is close to 6% of the total grain output of the entire year,and the nation's annual storage of grain for farmers.The resulting food loss is about 40 billion kilograms,accounting for 50% to 60% of the total loss.It can be seen that the loss of farmer grain storage is very serious,and it is an issue that China urgently needs to address and solve.This paper systematically analyzes the behavior of grain storage of farmers in the whole county by collecting data from various towns and villages in Jianli County,Hubei Province,and systematically analyzes the current situation of the loss of stored grain in the county and the causes and problems of losses.This article mainly through investigation and research and combined with visits to the food sector to understand the status of the grain storage situation of rural households in Jianli County and carry out analysis and research.The research results show that the number of rural households is still huge,but the individual scale is small,the layout is very scattered,and the peasant households' enthusiasm for grain storage.With the decline,the quantity of stored grain is decreasing and the time for food storage is also shortening.The loss of farmer grain storage remains serious.The main period of sales of farmer households in Jianli County was from September to December,that is,within three months after harvest,about 85% of farmers would choose to sell grain during this period.Farmers self-reserve surplus grain,mainly to consider two elements,first,the housing conditions are good,there are places to store food,this type is generally based on bags;Second,some farmers are economically comfortable,save food for sale.About 10% of the farmers will choose to sell food during the period from December to the Spring Festival,and 4-6 months after harvest.Only a few farmers will store grain in the spring of the coming year.The main food damage in the process of grain storage is in rodent,mildew and insect pests,of which the damage caused by rodent pests is the most serious.Jianli County farmers can store grain through publicity and promotion of scientific grain storage,establish scientific grain storage thinking in rural areas;formulate technical specifications for farmers to store grain,guide farmers to scientific grain storage;increase the use of scientific storage granaries to promote the use of stored grain loss prevention measures;We promoted rural collective granaries and supported large grain stores;set up a “food bank” to promote rural generation storage services;built a rural grain storage service system and established a grain storage publicity center to implement the six methods in rural areas to achieve the effect of reducing grain consumption.Jianli County farmer households can reduce the wastage of natural resources through scientific grain depletion,and can reduce the wastage of natural resources,reduce the consumption of grain,and promote the sustainable development of the economy.On the micro level,farmers can help reduce losses and improve farmers' income.
