Ordinary farmers as the main body of China's grain production and management activities, their food storage behavior can not only solve the farmers' own food demand, used to prepare for the famine and stabilize the inter-annual fluctuations of household food, but also can be quickly released to reduce national inventory pressure in an emergency because of its low cost and close proximity to the market. As an important means to stabilize the structure of food supply and demand and to stabilize the price fluctuations in the grain market, food storage and sales at the farmer level are a key part of ensuring food security in China. However, the current grain storage of farmers has been decreasing, and the grain storage time has been shortened repeatedly, showing the situation of immediate sales after harvest, and not arbitrage through grain storage. At the same time, the grain sales channel is single, but the grain storage is regarded as a fixed form of production and management, ignoring its safety attributes and speculative attributes. At present, under the various constraints, who is the main body of grain storage at the farmer level? What is stored? How is it sold?Based on the above problems,we must analyze the reasons for the changes in farmers' grain storage behaviors from the perspective of micro and long-term stability, and further explore the trend of changes in farmers' grain storage and sale behavior,in order to give a more reasonable explanation of behavior for grain storage and sales. This study is guided by the main theories related to grain storage and sales.Firstly,it analyzes the status of grain storage and sales of farmers in China.By comparing farmers and different grain varieties of different scales, this paper finds the main body of grain storage at the farmer level.Secondly, from the perspective of cost-benefit,finding the constraints is faced by farmers in grain storage and sales. Then, based on the perspective of farmers' cost constraints, the paper clarifies the impact of storage conditions and labor constraints on farmers' rice storage behavior, and uses nationwide survey data to analyze the impact of storage conditions and transportation costs on the choice of grain sales channels. The farmer's grain storage and sale behavior were separated, and the logit model was used to empirically analyze the impact of the main cost constraints on the grain storage of farmers. It also logically links the farmers' grain storage and grain sale behaviors, analyzes the changes in the behavior of farmers' grain storage and grain sales under the implementation of the grain price stabilization policy, and measures the role of external policy conditions on farmers' grain storage and sales. The study found that ordinary farmers,as the main body of grain storage, have more rations and longer storage time.Farmers no longer store food simply for food security.Second, for ordinary farmers, the main purpose of grain storage is to consume it instead of speculating. The cost constraint conditions change, the role of storage costs in the speculation behavior of farmers' grain storage behavior is reduced, and the effect of labor constraints on farmers' grain storage behavior cannot be ignored. Then, the degree of grain price stability policy effect is weakening, and ordinary farmers will not change their grain sales channels because of the role of policies.
