The development of small start-up companies can enhance economic vitality,promote economic restructuring,create new engines of development,and open up an economic path of innovation-driven development.However,small start-up companies are in the early stages of the enterprise life cycle,and the system of talent introduction and incentive is often imperfect,and there are many nonstandard and unscientific practices in employee incentive.Employees in enterprises often begin to suffer from job burnout,low efficiency,frequent negative emotions such as complaints and depression,and serious staff turnover,which greatly restricts the rapid development of small start-up companies.Therefore,the owners and managers of small start-up companies need to continuously improve the incentive mechanism,fully mobilize the enthusiasm of employees,enhance the satisfaction and loyalty of employees,comprehensively improve the human resources management level of the company,and lay the foundation for the long-term development of the company.Taking A small start-up company as an example,this paper analyzes the difficulties in employee motivation in A small start-up company and puts forward specific improvement countermeasures.Specifically,the first part of the paper combs the research background,research contents,research ideas,research methods and the research status at home and abroad.The second part is an overview of relevant theories,combing and summarizing the content-based incentive theory,process-based incentive theory and behavior correction-based incentive theory,which lays a theoretical foundation for the study of incentive dilemma and improvement countermeasures of A small start-up company.The third part summarizes the incentive status quo of A small start-up company.At present,the incentive methods adopted by A small start-up company mainly include salary incentive,assessment incentive,training incentive,promotion incentive and spiritual incentive.The fourth part analyzes the incentive dilemma faced by A small start-up company based on the incentive status quo of A small start-up company.It analyzes the incentive dilemma from the following five aspects: salary incentive dilemma,performance incentive dilemma,training incentivedilemma,promotion incentive dilemma and spiritual incentive dilemma.It finds that A small start-up company has some incentive problems such as low overall salary level,focus on short-term benefits,unsound performance appraisal system,weak training pertinence,long promotion cycle of staff positions,insufficient sense of responsibility and mission,etc.The fifth part puts forward specific improvement measures for the incentive difficulties of employees in small start-up companies,including adjusting the salary structure,constructing multi-dimensional salary standards,optimizing assessment standards,establishing effective performance feedback mechanism,improving demand pertinence,establishing fair and perfect promotion mechanism,and adopting spiritual incentive strategies such as achievement,emotion and example.Finally,the conclusion and prospect of the paper are summarized and the prospect of future research is put forward.
