Since China goes into WTO, automotive manufacturing industry has achieved significant development in China. Accompanying with OEM, automotive component manufacturing also grows continuously. It has been changed from most of automotive components rely on importing at the beginning to now that OEMs try their best to extend the percentage of components localization in a car. On the other hand, most of global automotive component manufacturers have developed their footprint in China too to occupy the market share in China. At the same time of extending the market, those OEMs and component manufacturers also continuously think about that how to grasp the opportunity, select proper suppliers and effectively control project launching in suppliers then to achieve stable product quality and low cost in the mass production. This thesis includes four chapters, aim at the SG company (A global automotive component manufacturer with over100years history, the headquarter located in Nuremberg, Germany) as the researching object. Firstly, the thesis analyzed the supplier selection and evaluation method which currently used very popularly in manufacturing industry especially automobile industry, the thesis takes the real supplier selection criteria as example from SG corporation, uses the AHP-Analytic Hierarchy Process to analyze the evaluation result from the example. And, secondly, the thesis deeply analyzes the supplier project management process of SG Corporation, explains the supplier project management process that is difficulty in automobile industry in detail. Hope all of the analysis in the thesis could provide some valuable information to those automotive components manufacturers especially to those domestic local companies.
