Food Safety Control In The "Internet+" Age

“Internet+” has been recognized both as a new form of economy and as an innovative driving force for real economy.Meanwhile,the national governance is evolving to incorporate more openness since freedom,equality,and openness are intrinsic characteristics of the Internet and its management requires communications and interactions between different governing bodies.As a new technology,the Internet is transforming and boosting the efficiency of the conventional food and drink service,however,it also brings forth new challenges to food safety control since old regulations are no longer sufficient for the new scenarios.Upon an investigation of the food and drink services on Wenhui Road,Songjiang University Town,the defects of the current food safety control methods are revealed,including: online food and drink service platforms are not active in enforcing the laws and regulations on food safety control;regulations on food delivery are ambiguous;the absence of regulative authorities in protecting the costumers' rights on food safety,etc.The reasons are summarized as well: there is a lack of cooperation between regulative authorities,and the power is not well balanced,inducing inefficiency in the regulations;the chaos brought by the unconstrained competition on the online platform;the inability of the customers to protect their own rights owing to the barriers set by the regulations and authorities;in addition,the conventional methods and technologies are not sufficient for the newly arising problems in food safety control.The use of "Internet +" technology innovation to improve food safety regulatory effectiveness,achieve food safety supervision and social members of the effective linkage has become an urgent problem in this paper.It is proposed from the survey that for the government,a cooperative food safety control mechanism utilizing the current information technology is required for effective enforcement of the laws and regulations;and for the online food and drink service platforms,more attention needs to be paid on the monitoring of the service providers,which could effectively purge the risks from the very start.In the Internet age,food safety control requires a concerted effort by the state,the market and the society,since each has its own pros and cons.Besides,the up-to-date technology will serve as a powerful tool to combat the challenges of food safety control.
