A Comparative Study On The Business Model Of Patent Operation

Since the 21 st century,patent,the most important intellectual property,has become a key factor in evaluating a country's economic and technological status.Patent operations in developed countries have been developed for a long time,and the number of global patent operations organizations also continue to increase.The most competitive factor in a market is the business model.Therefore,the meaning,characteristics,elements,implementation and steps of patent operation,especially for sustainable patent operation system,must be analyzed through business model theory.First of all,this paper analyzes the typical cases with the concept of business model in value creation,and divides the patent operation business model into four categories: attack type,defense type,hybrid type and "Internet plus" patent operation business model.Second,the composition of each patent operation business model has been analyzed.The offensive patent operation business model is based on the four major value chains of "organization planning","obtaining patents","using patents authorization or litigation" and "profit distribution" as its business model to realize patent value."fund acquisition","recruitment of members","patent" and "patent licensing" as the value of defensive patent operation business model to create orientation,to achieve its model of defense purposes,this type of patent operation business model and other models the largest The use of "organizational planning","raise fund","patent","pre-prepared" and "operating patent" as the value chain to form its business model.Hybrid patent operation business model combines the defensive type and offensive type."Internet plus" patent operation business model contains "team training","build platform "," Business model "," supply and demand driven","the establishment of online information publicity system ","service media" all these six elements of value creation elements.Finally,this paper argues that the "Internet plus" patent operation business model makes up for the shortcomings and imperfections of the existing patent operation organization.With the help of the Internet platform,it can overcome the shortcomings of the existing patent operation business model,then realize the new and greater value for the patent operation.
