RRPP is a protocol specifically applied to the Ethernet link layer,It can prevent the generation of data loops and quickly recover when the link breaks.This dissertation mainly studies some contents of RRPP.The following improvements have been made to the existing technical shortcomings.When the primary link between the edge node and the assistant edge node of the RRPP ring fails,the edge node blocks the edge port after receiving the Major-Fault packet.At this time,the traffic of all ports on the edge node is interrupted,which is like an "island".In this dissertation,for the "island" problem,uses the method of "select edge port of the smallest subring to release".all subrings in the ring network are stored in a custom linked list from small to large by the ring number.After receiving the Major-Fault packet,the edge node selects the edge port of the smallest subring to release,and the edge node removes blocking.at this time,the edge node can forward packets normally,and It is no longer an "island".That solves the problem of traffic edge node when the primary ring link fails.When the primary link between the edge node and the assistant edge node of the RRPP ring failed,The secondary port of subring's master node does not release until the Hello packet is received.At this point,the secondary ports are released at a time of seconds and reduce the data transmission rate,which affects the user experience.This dissertation adopts the method of "edge node adaptive inquiry,reporting and active notification subring fast release" to solve the problem of secondary port release after timeout.That is,the names of each node in the ring is configured in advance and let the edge node adaptively sense the status of the primary link.After the primary link between the edge node and the assistant edge node is down,the link-down packet carrying the sub-control VLAN is sent to the direction of subring.The master node of the subring releases its secondary port immediately after receiving the packet,thus completing fast switching of links.At this point,the switching time of subring's main node is greatly shortened.Without waiting for the timeout,the requirement of millisecond level can be achieved,and the interruption time of the user's traffic is greatly shortened.Finally,the feasibility of the optimization scheme was verified by comparing the data of the TestCenter before and after the improvement.
