There are abundant link resources in the data center, and there is often more than one available path from the source to the destination.Applying the MPTCP protocol in the data center not only makes full use of network resources, but also achieves good load balancing. However, multipath transmission inevitably has an out of order problem. In severe cases,it will cause cache blocking.Serious out-of-order problems in data centers are often caused by timeout retransmissions. If the timeout retransmission can be effectively slowed down, the cache blocking can be reduced, thereby improving the transmission performance of the network. The response of the existing retransmission mechanism to timeout retransmissions is often lagging, that is,these mechanisms only work if the timeout retransmission has been triggered, and in this case, cache blocking is inevitably generated. This in turn leads to a serious drop in network throughput. This paper proposes an proactive buffer block avoid mechanism PBBA:When the MPTCP sender suspects that a possible packet loss occurs on a substream and the congestion window remains, the data packet is retransmitted in time. The mechanism can trigger the timeout retransmission as little as possible. When the timeout retransmission has not occurred, the suspicious packet loss is retransmitted in time without increasing the network congestion, thereby reducing the cache blocking phenomenon and improving the network transmission performance. The paper verifies the effectiveness of the PBBA mechanism through network simulation under NS2.
