Research On The Reporting Framework Of "ZTE Incident" In Chinese And American Newspapers

Both China and the United States are world powers with significant influence on international affairs.Major-country diplomacy dominates the trend of international relations and is a topic that cannot be ignored in international news reports.On April 16,2018,the us department of commerce issued a seven-year export ban on ZTE is affected by the ban,will not be able to continue normal business activities.American sanctions against ZTE should be about Chinese enterprises' business,but in the current international environment,because China and the United States as the world's two largest economies there are various contradictions and conflicts,the United States sanctions ZTE the event became the expression of the interests of the state,on the science and technology,and political aspects of the two countries also has important influence.The occurrence of "ZTE event" has also attracted close attention from domestic and foreign media.Different media's description of this international dispute event,as well as what kind of media picture it presents behind the reports,are more concerned by researchers.This paper attempts to study using the frame theory,selection of the People's Daily and the Washington post news reports of "ZTE event" as the research sample,including the number,length,report form and report topics,sources and other basic statistics,explore two newspapers appear what kind of reporting framework respectively,whether has the similarities or differences,which analyze the medium its implied by the reporting framework is true.The study found that the People's Daily reported in "ZTE event" is used in the conflict framework,historical framework,cooperation framework,strategy framework,looking framework five reporting framework,the Washington post reported in "ZTE event" consequences were used in the fact that frame,frame,conflict framework,cooperation framework,threat framework five reporting framework.People's Daily focuses more on the countermeasure framework,which is reflected in the report of China's response to the "ZTE event" and the inspiration for the development of China's core technology.The Washington post focuses on the conflict framework,which is reflected in the game between the Chinese and American governments and the debate within the United States on the "ZTE event".The author explores the reasons for the differences between the reporting frameworks of the two newspapers in the intermational dispute of "ZTE event".and according to the characteristics of the two newspapers reported framework put forward some revelation,in order to provide a little for the international news reports research train of thought.
