Ideology is a concept within the category of philosophy, which can be summarized as the knowledge and understanding of the world. The ideology in the human brain does not exist originally, but is produced by the influence of social existence.Human ideology originates from thinking ability, environment, information, value orientation and other dimensions. Therefore, people with different ideologies will have different understandings and cognition when facing the same thing. In the report to the 19th national congress of the communist party of China, president Xi made it clear that China should build a socialist ideology with strong cohesion and leadership. He also stressed that"the Internet has become a major battleground in the battle of public opinion."At the present stage,China is in the period of rapid development, social transformation and reform, and all kinds of problems and contradictions emerge in society. Therefore,it is of great significance to study the factors affecting the ideology of Chinese netizens, which is directly related to the overall situation of national reform and stable development. The author first conducted a secondary analysis on the data of the"Chinese netizens'social consciousness survey(2014 edition)"to analyze the relationship between gender, age, income, education, media use and other factors and the ideological position of Chinese netizens before 2014.The findings show that the ideological position of Chinese netizens as a whole belongs to the category of "center-right" before 2014,and female netizens are more "left-left" than male netizens. There is a significant positive correlation between age and ideology. However, there is no obvious linear relationship between income, education and ideological stand.During the five years from 2014 to 2019,with the continuous innovation and development of Internet media from the form of communication to the means of communication,Chinese netizens'habits of using media are more personalized and their access to information more diversified. Therefore, the author believes that in 2019,the influence of gender, age, income, education background and media use on the ideological position of Chinese netizens will change.Based on this assumption, the author then collected through the network to 323 valid questionnaires for correlation analysis, found that compared with 2014,2019 Chinese Internet users the ideological position of the whole, though still in the category of "centre-right",but the gender differences are not clearly, gender and ideological positions become weaker correlation; In 2019,there is still a significant positive correlation between age and ideology. The older age is,the more ideological stance tends to be "right",which is consistent with the trend in 2014.However,the degree of "right" tendency is obviously "aging".There is no significant linear relationship between income and education background and ideological stance, which is consistent with the conclusion in 2014.Finally,the author conducted unstructured interviews and unstructured observations on relevant groups, and tried to explore what factors led to the changes in the ideological distribution of Chinese Internet users in the five years from 2014 to 2019 through qualitative analysis, and what caused the changes.
