Research On The Collection Building Of The Society For The Preservation Of Chinese Studies

In 1906,the Sinology Preservation Institute set up a library in Shanghai to promote Sinology,save quintessence,and explore ways to save the country by using traditional culture.The Library of the Sinology Preservation Institute is the first public library run by the Chinese people in Shanghai.It is an important practice of the Chinese people's new collection ideas.The Library advocates the opening and utilization of books,and made significant contributions to the preservation,organization of ancient books and the promotion of Sinology.However,the library also has its limitations,that is,the conservative tendencies are aggravated in the later period,which hinders its own development.It is really regrettable that this limitation could not be overcome and eventually make it decline,and it fall down in 1914.At the same time,it is also a warning to today's library industry.The full text divides into five chapters,the first chapter carries on the overall to the library of Sinology Preservation Institute to introduce including the directly affiliated institution of the library,the Sinology Preservation Institute,the reasons for the establishment,the founding time,the founder,the site,the source of funds and the management of the library,in an attempt to give readers a holistic and comprehensive understanding.The second and third chapters analyze the situation of the Sinology Preservation Institute 's library in four aspects: the source,characteristics,collation and utilization of books.The fourth chapter mainly analyzes the reasons for its decline from both internal and external aspects through the performance of the decline of the Sinology Preservation Institute's library.The fifth chapter is an overall understanding of the Sinology Preservation Institute ' s library,summarizing and analyzing the achievements and existing problems of the library,in order to have an objective and comprehensive understanding of the library,and provide useful reference for the development of contemporary library.
