The mathematics curriculum standard for comp ulsory education(2011 edition)puts forward ten core concepts."geometric intuition" is one of the ten core concepts in the curriculum standard.The understanding and understanding of geometric intuition is an important basis for the implementation of mathematics curriculum.This study mainly adopts literature research method,test method and interview method.Firstly,the concept,value and function of geometric intuition and the specific requirements of geometric intuition in mathematics curriculum standards for compulsory education(2011 edition)are understood by means of literature research.Then the test paper will be distributed for investigation:1.Can eighth grade students' geometric intuitive ability meet the requirements of the curriculum standards?2.How do the students' geometric intuitive ability perform in each dimension?3.Are there differences in the development of geometric intuition between urban and rural areas?The test results were statistically analyzed by using Excel software and SPSS 20.0 software,and the students were interviewed at the same time.Based on the analysis of the test results and the requirements on geometric intuition in mathematics curriculum standards for compulsory education(2011 edition),this paper draws the following conclusions:1.At present,the overall level of eighth grade students' geometric intuitive ability can meet the requirements of the curriculum standards;2.In the dimension of geometric intuition,students' intuitive insight ability and intuitive imagination ability are better,but their intuitive construction ability is different among different students.3.The eighth grade students are not strong in solving problems with geometric intuition,and some of them cannot solve mathematical problems with geometric intuition.4.Uneven development of students' geometric intuition ability in urban and rural areas.The overall performance of geometric intuition of urban students is slightly higher than that of ruralstudents.Based on the above research conclusions,the following Suggestions are proposed for the cultivation of students' geometric intuition ability:1.Pay attention to students' understanding of concepts,formulas,axioms and other geometric meanings.2.Improve students' ability of reading and visualizing,and cultivate students' awareness of reading and drawing.3.Train students to solve problems with the combination of Numbers and shapes.4.Display geometric intuition by means of modern information technology.
