The "geometric intuition" is listed as one of the ten core concepts in Standard(2011 edition) and was given a clear definition for the first time. Mathematics originates from life, however,when many problems in life become mathematical, they would disengage from their own geometric background, becoming abstract images. It will be not conducive to problem solving.After students enter junior high school, geometric problems become more complex. In Algebra, the original specific figures are replaced by letters,what’s more, statistics and probability are met by junior high school students for the first time. Many mathematics problems become more abstract and difficult to understand. So this article is from the actual situation of junior middle school students, investigating the actual situation of geometric intuitive skills in junior high school students and giving some advice in improving the ability of using geometric intuitive of junior high school students and providing some mathematical intuitive cases.This article investigates the abilities to use geometric intuition of junior high school students from three aspects: theory, knowledge and practice. The research shows the abilities to use geometric intuition of junior high school students are too low to reach the request of Standard(2011 edition). So there is much room to improve. Students’ understanding in the connotation of the geometry intuitive is not enough and their awareness of using geometric intuition to solve practical problems is high but not flexible enough. For the students in different grades, the abilities to use geometric intuitive application rise in a straight line, but the difference is not obvious. The consciousness of cultivating students’ ability of using geometric intuitive is strengthened gradually in the actual implementation of the teaching process, and most teachers think that geometric intuition is very important in teaching and cultivating students’ ability to use the geometric intuition is imminent. Therefore, to strengthen the students’ awareness to use the geometric intuitive and ability to solve practical problems is important. It is particularly important to strengthen the teachers’ consciousness of using geometric intuition in teaching.
