The "Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Implementing the Rural Revitalization Strategy" clearly puts forward"priority development of rural education." The modernization of the country and the revitalization of the countryside require priority development of education.The modernization of people is the fundamental starting point and destination of education modermization.However,the revitalization and the nodermization of the countryside are inseparable from the smallest unit of rural education,small-scale schools.The proposal of rural revitalization strategy has given new opportunities for the development of small-scale rural schools in the modern era.With more than ten years of school layout adjustment,the number and scale of rural schools are decreasing.the decline in the school-age population and the movement of migrant children,the number of students in rural schools has been lost.The small rural schools have become an important part of rural education and it will exist in the vast rural areas for a long time.Now,small rural schools are still facing problems such as lack of resources and the shortage of teachers.In the new era,the development focus of small-scale rural schools is no longer how to maintain the survival of schools,but to build.A modern small rural school with self-development as the core.From survival to development is the direction of its development.What is the actual state of small rural school development?What is the problem with the current development?How to promote the transformation of small rural schools into modern developmental schools?These are the concerns of this study.Through the study of small-scale rural schools,it proposes a feasible construction path,promotes the development of the school,enables it to play its own role in radiant,and cultivates rural modern talents,thus realizing the revitalization of the countryside.Based on the analysis of national macro-data,this study conducts investigations in small rural schools in Y County as a case and provides an in-depth understanding of the real living conditions of small-scale schools in rural areas.Tlhrough the analysis of current situation,it seeks the reaction of development of small-scale schools in rural areas.According to above discussion,this study is divided into six chapters to discuss:The first chapter is the introduction.Based on the practical problems of national policies of the development of-the small rural school,the author puts forward the research questions,clarifies the purpose and significance of the research,and sorts out the current research on the problems of small-scale schools in rural areas through the collation of domestic and foreign literatures,aiming to clarify the basic ideas of this study.At the same time.the research method of this study is chosen,and the paradigm of mixed research is used.The interview,observation and descriptive statistics are selected to examine the status quo and living conditions of small-scale rural schools from macro to micro.The second chapter constructs the theoretical framework of this study.Firstly,the research explains the problems related to small-scale rural schools,and defines the related concepts of the core "small-scale schools in rural areas".Secondly,the paper analyzes the relationship between rural revitalization strategies and small-scale rural construction,eoPprehensive application.For further analysis,the paper integrates the Theory of Educational Equity and the Theory of Educational Ecology.Based on national statistics the third chapter is conducts data analysis of the development of small-scale schools in rural areas from a macro perspective.In this way,the paper is focused on the following perspectives:the basic characteristics of the development of small-scale rural schools,the funding,the faculty and the conditions of running schools.The fourth chapter analyzes the real living state of the small-scale rural schools in Y County and summarizes its dilemma into two parts:the predicament of development within the school and the predicament of construction outside the school.According to the main body and the environment of development,the internal predicament is divided into imbalance of teacher structure,students ’ departure and lack of material construction in schools,and school system operation.On the other hand,extermal construction dilemma is the contradiction of the external development subject of the school and the challenge of the extermal development environment of the school.The fifth chapter analyzes the reasons for the development of small rural schools under the strategy of rural revitalization.According to internal and external factors,the paper divides the reasons into the following aspects:There are teachers’ negative educational concept the single school’s evaluation method,and school development location coincident.Policy values efficiency and despises fairness.Unreasonable education funding system.And The progress problems left over from history.The sixth chapter is based on the dilemma of the development of small-scale rural schools,and thus proposes the strategy of developing small-scale rural schools under the rural revitalization strategy.On the one side,the core internal development mechanism is to cultivate the teacher’s innovative consciousness,the school education concept renewal and the construction of the school community.On the other side,the external support strategy is focused on building a complete policy system,deepening the Reform of the Mechanisms of Rural Compulsory Education Funding Guarantees and the of the digital campus systen construction.The approaches above target at building a small-scale,modem,developmental village.
