In taekwondo,this direct combat sport,athletes are always in a state of tension physically and mentally.And the results have to be achieved through fierce competition.With people's increasing attention to competitive sports,athletes' skills and tactics have been continuously improved.For high-level athletes,the competition upgrades from completion of physical fitness and tactics to competition of psychological quality.Acute stress is the most vital factor that influences athletes' techniques and tactics.Athletes' adaptation to the fierce competition and their response to unexpected events on the court have become the key factors for winning.This study was conducted to learn about the attitudes of the coaches and athletes of the Taekwondo towards psychological training,the training content,the management style of the sports team and coaches' guidance style in Athletics Sports School attached to Shenyang Sport University.The results show that: Taekwondo coaches and athletes are still unfamiliar with psychological training,and they also have less knowledge of psychological training methods.After daily simulation games as well as official games,the team mainly summarizes experience in the form of talks and post-game reflections without relevant psychological theory knowledge and targeted psychological training programs.The tracking and interviewing also show that score is the only goal for the coaches and athletes,which,to a certain extent exert,impose greater psychological pressure on athletes.The improvement of the psychological stress level will do much better to acute stress research of Taekwondo athletes in Athletics Sports School Attached to Shenyang Sport University.According to the literature review,Taekwondo athletes' stress assessment and coping style are closely related to athletes' personality traits and reaction cognitive style.On this basis,this paper studies taekwondo athletes in Athletics Sports School Attached to Shenyang Sport University with the help of such research methods as literature review,questionnaires,logic analysis and mathematical statistics,etc.Specifically,it mainly studies psychological stress evaluation methods as well as coping methods,and furthermore,the correlations between them and personality traits and reaction cognitive styles are researched and demonstrated.Research results are shown as follows:(1)there are two major methods for Taekwondo athletes in Athletics Sports School Attached to Shenyang Sport University tocope with stress: challenge and threat.When faced with the same stress source,athletes with higher skills and more training years will be more inclined to choose challenge,which will gradually turns to automatic mode.(2)The coping style targeted at the task is more welcome among athletes in the school.In the face of stressors,it is not a single coping style but a combination of various coping styles will be selected.Athletes with higher skills and more training years will be more inclined to choose task-based coping style.(3)The more active and lively the character of the Taekwondo athletes,and the quicker and accurate the way of responding as well as cognitive style,the more they tend to regard the stress source as a challenge and take a task-based coping style.(4)Facing with as noisy crowd,coach criticizes,referee punishes,bad weather and the mistakes,the athletes would most probably take a negative copying style.According to the research results,the following four suggestions are proposed:(1)corresponding stress training courses should be offered in the school for the taekwondo team for athletes to attach more attention to stress.(2)In daily training,coaches should perform stress training on taekwondo athletes in various situations.(3)Coaches are also supposed to develop different training programs and on-site coaching programs when training and participating in competitions in accordance with athletes' gender,skills and training years.(4)The Taekwondo team should select those athletes with extrovert tendencies and emotional stability,who are fast or slow but accurate in movement for competitions.
