At present, acute leukemia has become one of the major diseases that seriously endanger children’s health in China.Acute leukemia is a malignant disease of hematopoietic system and the most common malignant tumor in children. In recent years, with the continuous development and progress of medical technology, the remission rate and cure rate of childhood leukemia have been greatly improved, and the survival time has also been greatly prolonged to some extent. However, the treatment time is long, the treatment cost is high and the condition is easy to repeat, which makes the family of children need more and more social services. The imperfect medical security system and the insufficient medical social work services in society make it difficult to meet the family needs of children with leukemia.Leukemia still brings tremendous pressure and burden to the whole family. Therefore, the problem of this study is to deepen the current situation of family stress in children with acute leukemia in China, and to find ways and means to cope with family stress in children with leukemia.Based on the ABC-X model of family stress theory, this paper analyzed the current situation of family stress in children with leukemia.Using qualitative case study method, taking the families of children with leukemia in medical social work projects of S social work institutions in Guangzhou as the main research object, and based on the medical social work projects of S social work institutions in Guangzhou, through in-depth interviews to understand the source of family stress, cognitive situation and family stress of children with leukemia.Based on the analysis of existing resources, the methods and paths to cope with family stress in children with leukemia were obtained. On this basis, suggestions were put forward to improve the main body of rescue, and suggestions were put forward to improve the service intervention of medical social workers.Through the summary and analysis of the study,we found that the family stress of leukemia children comes from three levels: stress events, internal and external family. The main factors affecting the pressure are negative cognition and inadequate family resources. In order to cope with family pressure, families of leukemia children need to change their understanding of pressure and integrate resources, and adopt a variety of coping strategies. The purpose of this paper is to explore the present situation of families of children with leukemia from a new angle,so as to provide a theoretical basis for medical social workers to better intervene in families with children with leukemia, and to provide a reference for related research on children’s cancer.
