The current phenomenon of physical inactivity in society has threatened people’s physical and mental health.Physical inactivity not only increases the incidence of metabolic syndrome, such as hypertension, hyperglycemia, etc.Physical inactivity is also strongly associated with sleep disorders, anxiety, and cognitive performance. The university student population needs to complete daily classroom requirements,in addition to improving their professional skills to meet future job demands. These demands reduce the amount of free time available to university students and lower their physical activity levels. With the goal of " Strong sport is a strong nation",the physical inactivity of university students has caused widespread concern in the society. In particular, the problem of insufficient physical activity of female university students needs to be addressed urgently. Therefore,it is necessary to explore the effect of acute stress on the inhibitory control of female university students with different physical activities, comprehensively analyze the changes of the neural mechanism of inhibition control under acute stress of different physical activity female university students.Explore the possibility of enhancing physical activity to help college students cope with stress from the three inhibition control stages of conflict monitoring(N2),response selection(P3)and response assessment(LPP).To summarize, this study investigated the level of physical activity and explored the differential performance of inhibitory control between high and low activity groups under acute stress using an experimental method. This study provides an empirical basis for increasing the level of physical activity to help university students deal with stress. The study firstly adopted the convenience sampling method to distribute 500 copies of the international physical activity level questionnaire in a university in Xinjiang, and 452 valid questionnaires were collected.SPSS 26.0 software was used to analyze the descriptive statistics of data.Help us to understand the physical activity of students.Test the differences in physical activity level by gender, major and grade. After that,26 female students(13 with high activity;13 with low activity)who were willing to participate in the follow-up experimental study were invited to participate in the ERP experiment.A modified version of the Tescherill(TSST)paradigm was used to induce acute stress states(self-speech,oral arithmetic)and neutral states(reading out loud)in the subjects, and both groups were asked to complete the go/no-go task in both states.EEG data were continuously collected during the task using a 64-channel EEG cap throughout the experiment in university students, and the subjective emotions of the subjects during the experiment were measured using a brief version of the State Anxiety Scale. The area under the stress curve, the number of errors, and the difference waves of the two stimulus conditions in frontal-central N2 wave amplitude,parietal-central P3,and LPP wave amplitude were compared between the two groups of subjects in the stress and neutral states.Result: 1.The proportion of male university students who maintain high-intensity activities per week is higher than that of female university students. The proportion of male university students who maintain low-intensity activities is lower than that of female. The average weekly total activity of male is also higher than that of female university students.2.In the neutral state,The errors times in the high-activity group was similar to that in the low-activity group. The N2 d amplitude of the high activity group was significantly greater than that of the low activity group. The LPP amplitude of the high activity group was significantly smaller than that of the low activity group, and there was no significant difference in P3 d amplitude.3.The area under the stress curve was larger in the stress condition compared with the neutral condition; The errors times in the high-activity group was similar to that in the low-activity group in the neutral condition, and the high-activity group had lower error times than that in the low-activity group in the stress condition. In the neutral state, the N2 amplitude of the difference wave in the high activity group was substantially larger than that in the low activity group, and the LPP amplitude was significantly smaller than that in the low activity group. However, the two groups had the similar N2 and LPP amplitudes of difference waves in the stress state. In summary, this study concluded that 1.Compared with male university students, the problem of insufficient physical activity of female university students needs more attention in Xinjiang.2.In daily life,high-activity female university students have similar inhibitory controls as low-activity female university students.3.On the one hand, acute stress state helps female university students with high activity level to inhibit control performance, and on the other hand,it weakens the inhibitory control performance of female university students with low activity.
