Mental is one of the factors that influences health, exercise not only can increase body's health, but also can enhance mental health. One of the functions of exercise is to bring down mental stress, to decrease intensity of mental stress and to increase mental tolerance, so it protects the health. But why and what does it word, it's not clear. This study is to explore the effect of exercise on acute mental stress and secretion of cytokines by animal experiment, and Radioimmunoassay method is used to measure the levels of IL-6 and TNF-α .Result: (1) Acute mental stress makes the level of IL-6 and TNF- α of the SD rats significantly lower than the controlled group. (2) Acute mental stress increases significantly the level of IL-6 of the 30 minutes-trained-group, in the same time, keeps the level of TNF- α . (3) Acute mental stress decreases significantly the level of TNF- α of the 60 minutes-trained-group, and keeps the level of IL-6.Conclusion: Acute mental stress can depress the rat's immunity function. Medium exercise can bring down the acute mental stress reaction and protect the body's immunity function. It is likely related to the adaptation of the HPA by chronic moderate exercise.
