This paper titled with "The pre-service training mode of primary school teachers in Taiwan"conducts its study on the pre-service training of primary school teachers from 1994 to date in Taiwan area.To achieve the study purpose,by using historical research method and literature research method,this paper first collects,classifies and analyzes lots of related literature and information to discuss the following four aspects:the history of pre-service training of primary school teachers in Taiwan,its systems,pre-service training in Taiwan's National Donghua University and its features.Then it probes into details of each aspect to explore the general situation and training mode so as to have a deep understanding of the pre-service training and finally summarize main findings and put forward the conclusion.This paper introduces the current situation of pre-service training of primary school teachers in Taiwan.When discussing its mode,three stages in teacher training are elaborated respectively,namely,the selection system,curriculum system,practice and appraisal system.And then,on this basis,its mechanism was comprehensively analyzed to provide reference and experience for the development of pre-service training ofprimary school teachers in mainland China.Through comparing the pre-service training modes of primary school teachers between the two sides of Taiwan Strait,certain conclusions are drawn:The changes of primary school teacher training policies across the Taiwan Strait both are affected by political,social and economic factors;The development of primary school teachers training in Taiwan is mainly based on"Teacher Training Act";The "Teacher Training Act" is not established in mainland China,where"Teachers Law" are followed instead;The training idea in Taiwan is open and pluralism,self-paying,combined training and reserve training;While mainland adopts the concept of non-directional,mainly self-paying,integrated training;Both sides have opened non-normal universities to participate in primary schoolteacher training since 1994;The tuition in Taiwan is mainly at self-expense and supplemented by grants and scholarships;In mainland,it is mainly at students' own expense and a free education program for quasi-teachers;To strengthen the teachers' employment competitiveness,Taiwan makes plans offering "empowerment program"to develop students' second specialty;While mainland China constructs specialized curriculum model and actively develops "featured courses";The practice system in Taiwan has undergone great changes after the implementation of the "Teacher Training Act";The mainland promotes"Post Practice Program" to improve the quality of rural teachers.
