Research On The Transformation And Upgrading Of Jingzhou's Equipment Manufacturing Industry

Since the financial crisis in 2008,major developed countries has began to pay more attention to the development of manufacturing industry,and have implemented the strategy of "re-industrialization" in succession to seize the commanding heights of the new global manufacturing pattern: the implementation of "manufacturing revival strategy" in the United States,the "industrial 4.0 strategy" in Germany,and the "new industrialization" initiatives in Japan and South Korea.Meanwhile,China has also launched the "Made in China 2025" plan in 2015,advocating developing manufacturing industry which is innovation-driven,intelligent,foundation-focused and green,in order to promote China's manufacturing industry to the high range of the global value chain and enhance the core competitiveness of China's manufacturing industry.As the basis and important component of manufacturing industry,equipment manufacturing industry is the focus area of the plan,so the transformation and upgrading of equipment manufacturing industry in China is imminent.In recent years,the superposition of many development opportunities,such as "Yangtze River Economic Belt" and "Demonstration Zone of Undertaking Industrial Transfer in Jingzhou,Hubei Province",have promoted Jingzhou to develop healthily and rapidly.And,as one of the six pillar industries in Jingzhou,the equipment manufacturing industry has become the leading industry promoting economic growth,and has been making an important contribution to the economic development of Jingzhou.At present,the equipment manufacturing industry in Jingzhou has formed major industries such as automobile manufacturing industry,metal products industry,petroleum and petrochemical equipment manufacturing industry,mechanical and electrical industry,construction machinery industry etc.All kinds of industries show good momentum of development.By the end of 2017,the equipment manufacturing enterprises above scale in Jingzhou had achieved a total industrial output value of 69.517 billion yuan,a total profit of 4.684 billion yuan,income tax amounted to 595 million yuan,and the average number of employees was 53.221 million,respectively accounting for 28.94%,36.48%,51.74% and 30.10% of those of the industrial enterprises above scale.However,there are still many problems in the development of equipment manufacturing industry in Jingzhou.How to seize so many opportunities currently,speed up the integration development of the new generation of information technology and equipment manufacturing industry,improve the quality and efficiency of equipment manufacturing industry,enhance the competitiveness of industry,and promote the high-speed and high-quality development of economy is an urgent problem to be solved in Jingzhou.Firstly,the research deeply analyzes the current situation of equipment manufacturing industry in Jingzhou and the problems faced by transformation and upgrading,then establishes an empirical model for evaluating the transformation and upgrading ability of equipment manufacturing industry in Jingzhou based on principal component analysis,and gets the ability score of transformation and upgrading of each subdivision industry and the advantages and disadvantages compared with other subdivision industries,finally puts forward corresponding policy recommendations for transformation and upgrading of equipment manufacturing industry in Jingzhou.In general,this paper has certain theoretical value and practical significance.The full text consists of five chapters and has more than 30,000 words.The main content of each part is as follows:The first part is the introduction.This part mainly discusses the background and significance of the research on the transformation and upgrading of equipment manufacturing industry in Jingzhou,the research summary at home and abroad,and the research contents and methods.Moreover,the research methods adopted in this paper mainly include literature research,investigation and interview,empirical analysis and comparative analysis.The second part is the basic concepts and theoretical basis.Firstly,the author defines the concept of equipment manufacturing industry and the connotation of industrial transformation and upgrading.Secondly,it briefly introduces industrial division theory,comparative advantage theory,new economic growth theory,and their application in this paper.The third part is the analysis of the current situation of equipment manufacturing industry in Jingzhou and the problems faced by transformation and upgrading.On the one hand,the equipment manufacturing industry in Jingzhou has made good achievements in recent years.The scale of industry has steadily expanded,the role of economic support is obvious,the industrial structure has been continuously optimized,and the effect of industrial agglomeration has emerged.On the other hand,there are still many problems in the transformation and upgrading of equipment manufacturing industry in Jingzhou.For example,the industry is of small scale,lacking in leading enterprises,in low level,with unreasonable structure,insufficient R&D investment and poor ability of independent innovation,low extroversion and weak ability of earning foreign exchange.The fourth part is the principal component analysis of Jingzhou equipment manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading capacity evaluation.Firstly,this chapter establishes an index system for evaluating the transformation and upgrading capability of equipment manufacturing industry in Jingzhou.Secondly,the principal component analysis is carried out,and the author obtains the ability score of transformation and upgrading of each subdivision industry,as well as the advantages and disadvantages compared with other subdivision industries.Finally,this paper puts forward the sub-industries that the development of equipment manufacturing industry should focus on in Jingzhou and their abilities to be promoted urgently.The fifth part is the policy suggestions for the transformation and upgrading of equipment manufacturing industry in Jingzhou.On the basis of the previous analysis,five targeted policy suggestions are put forward.Firstly,invisible champions should be actively cultivated to lead the development of the industry.Secondly,traditional industries should be optimized and upgraded to promote the industry to develop in a high-quality and efficient way.Thirdly,a good innovation environment should be created to enhance the industry's capability of independent innovation.Fourthly,the industry should transform to high-end,intelligent and service-oriented development.Fifthly,enterprises should be encouraged to go abroad and come to Jingzhou.
