Hats take an important part of garments as well as the material culture.As the head is the vital organ of the human body,in that case,hatsattract more attention than any part else.And it is also highly considered by all ethic nations in China.The Tibetan people live in the Tibetan Plateau for a very long time,the natural environment of this highland is quite different from which of other parts of China;here the climate is always very tough and sometimes extremely cold.As a result,hatsarenot only a necessity but a must for the Tibetan people.The origin of the Tibetan hat could be hard to investigate,archeological articles may be a help to understand the early history.The firstTibetandynasty was established by the KingSongtsanGampo,since then the Tibetan characters are widely used to record the history.After,that dynasty,the Tibetan people experienced the Fission and Separation Period,Sakyapa period,Pamodrulpa period,Gelugpa period and finally the Kasha local government period.With a history of more than 1400years,the Tibetan peopleled a stable life.What’s more,the Tibetan residence area extended from Yarlong river of Lhoka,to the southwest and northwest of China.Hats of Tibetan style have derived into many sorts and styles.Division of Tibetan hats is necessary and the criteria could be multiple.The division method could be by regions,materials and models.This helps to efficiently assort the hats in a wide degree but also compares the differences of local living environments and cultural conditions.Hat as an elementary part of Tibetan people’s daily life,its basic function should firstly be observed.Such as keeping warm,sheltering the sunlight,aesthetic decoration and issuing the identification.On the other hand,the Tibetan culture has its unique characters which are not like the other parts of China,for example the ethnicity,reginal variety,multiplication and naturalism.At the last part of the essay,the author analyzed the cultural specialty of the Tibetan hats.Tibetan hat is a sort of Tibetangarments,it has mixed with the long history of Tibet.It is also a mixture of the Tibetan religions and beliefs.All these contribute to the Tibetan hat culture and reflected by its color,symbolism,sanctity,gender difference and the career.
