Application Of Gaudi's Architectural Style In Woven Garments Design

Modern design works is the product from a combination of various design fields.The modeling style of architectural design and the style of clothing design influences each other and blends with each other.This article starts from the modeling style of Gaudi's architecture in different periods.The first part analyzes longitudinally the modeling style of Gaudi' architectures,influenced by Catalan culture,Art Nouveau and several ancestors' design concepts.The architectural style evolves from the e mbryonic stage of design to the mature stage of design.Compared with his architectural styles at different stages of his design,most of the architectural modeling uses a part of curve s to express his design.Whether or not Gaudi's early wrought-iron decorative design or the later mature expression of his style,Casa Mila,express curves incisively and vividly.Therefore,Casa Mila,as expressing curves in the modeling style of Gaudi's architecture,is a representative works.From the horizontal analysis of Art Nouveau,many architectural designs also apply the curve in the structural design of the building.Casa Mila's modeling curves and other buildings' curve designs used are compared and analyzed how its architectural style in Art Nouveau is uniqu and why the curve design of Casa Mila is different from that of other architectures along with the influece of Casa Mila's curve design during the period of Art Nouveau.The second part is the research and analysis of the relationship between Casa Mila's curve modeling and woven garment design,and the study on its curve modeling in the design of woven garments.First of all,from materials collected in the first section,the curve modeling of Casa is determined as a case.In addition,the woven art language analyzes the woven principle,the expression of the woven structure,and the like.Next,the composition of the unique organic curve in the structure of Casa Mila converts into woven fabrics.A sample of woven fabrics consists of different organizational structures of woven fabrics,selection of woven materials and analyses how to apply architectural structure modeling to woven garments,embodying its fashion and artistry,paving the way for woven garment designs.Afterwards,the design process is organically combined with previous theoretical analysis and design practices.Analyzing the characteristic of the modeling structure of Casa Mila starts with the design composition.What selecting the materials needed for clothing design,making a sample,designing the garment drawing,confirming the fashion illustration,and finally the "Floating" series of garment production turns into research results,which expresses how Gaudy's classic architectural structure modeling and woven garment design modeling are combined with each other and echoed each other.Thus,woven garments show the unique shape of Gaudy architecture's modeling style,expressing to advocate naturalism in Gaudi's architectures and to reflect the natural beauty of organic curves.
