In recent years,the global economic situation remains tense and turbulent,it's hard to recovery and the future is unknown.Although the economy has maintained a stable and healthy state of development by comprehensively deepening reform,but the economic slowdown has made the structural contradictions accumulated in a prominent condition nowadays.The business environment faced by enterprises is becoming more and more complicated and the competition is increasingly fierce.As the source of knowledge creation and technology diffusion,innovation is the core means for enterprises to obtain sustainable competitive advantage.Employee is the basic unit of organizational innovation,it has always been a hot spot in the field of innovation and leadership theory research of what kind of leadership style managers use can stimulate employee's innovative behavior effectively,and it is also an important problem that needs to be solved urgently in the management practice.Therefore,based on a variety of theoretical perspectives and drawing on a sample of349 employees from Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta,we examined the servant leadership's effect on employees' innovative behavior,as well as the mediating effect of psychological safety and the moderating effect of power distance between servant leadership and employee's innovative behavior.The main conclusions as follows:(1)Servant leadership and its five sub-dimensions—cultivation,thoughtfulness,talent,conduct and benevolent have significant positive effect on psychological safety.(2)Psychological safety has significant positive effect on employee's innovative behavior and its two dimensions—work and the generation of innovative ideas.(3)Servant leadership has significant positive effect on employee's innovative behavior,among which cultivation,talent and benevolent dimension have significant positive effect on the generation of innovative ideas.As well as cultivation,thoughtfulness,conduct and benevolent dimension have significant positive effect on the generation of innovative ideas.(4)Psychological safety plays a mediation role between servant leadership andemployee's innovative behavior.This relationship is always established in each sub-path.Most of which are partial mediating effect,but psychological safety has complete mediating effect between thoughtfulness dimension and the generation of innovative ideas,and between conduct dimension and the generation of innovative ideas,as well as between talent dimension and work of innovative ideas.(5)Power distance can altered relationship of servant leadership support to psychological safety,among that power distance altered relationships of each sub-dimension support to psychological safety,except for talent dimension.In that these relationships is stronger for employee scoring high on power distance.
