As an important mode of management,performance management is an important part of enterprise management,and has become an effective means for enterprises to achieve strategic objectives,and develop their core competencies.Compared with foreign advanced banks,domestic commercial banks have a great capability gap in management.Therefore,domestic commercial banks should be based on the scientific performance management concept and effective performance management system,for the purpose of adapting themselves to the rapidly changing internal and external environment and enhancing their core competencies to participate in the global financial competitions.Taken An Yang Branch of Bank of China as the object of study,this paper firstly describes theories and main methods of performance management of commercial bank,which is the theoretical foundation of this study.And secondly,we analyze the current status of performance management of An Yang Branch of Bank of China,find out its existing problems,and the necessity and feasibility of re-building its performance management system.Thirdly,according to the process of performance management circulation,including performance plan,implementation,communication,feedback and improvement,and the methods,such as Management By Ojectives(MBO),360-Degree Feedback,Economic Value Added(EVA),Key Performance Indicator(KPI)and Balanced Scorecard(BSC),the performance management system of An Yang Branch of Bank of China is reconstructed and empirically analyzed,which is combined its current management infrastructure and resources with the related successful experience in domestic and foreign banks.And at last,systematic recommendations are given to guarantee effective implementation of performance management system.
