As the information communication technology developing fast, the information communication tools such as smartphone has penetrated into the working and private life of most employees,he time and space boundaries of work and non-work area is blurring, working in non-working time through information and communication technologies(referred as “W_ICTs” below)is more and more common, its impact on the staff has been hot topic in research field. But most of the current research focus on W_ICTs' impact on the subjective well-being and work-family related variables.Whereas little research has focus on the direct impact on work-related variables, most of which is conducted from single perspective either positive or negative. As job burnout is closely related to several important work-related variables, such as performance and turnover tendency,it is meaningful both theoretically and practically to study W_ICTs' impact on job burnout and the mechanism of it.This thesis is based on the resource preservation theory, integrating perspectives of both positive and negative. In this thesis The W_ICTs' impact on the 3 dimensions of job burnout and its mechanism are studied from the aspects of resource losses and resource acquisition. From the view of resource losses, the positive effect W_ICTs has on dimensions of emotional exhaustion and cynicism is studied by regarding W_ICTs as the extra requirement of work and introducing Psychological Detachment as intermediate variable. From the view of resource acquisition, the negative effect W_ICTs has on the dimension of reducing personal accomplishment is studied by regarding W_ICTs as a tool for controlling the job and introducing Perceived Control of Job as intermediate variable. In this study Perceived Segmentation Norm is used as regulated variable. In this study, totally 370 questionnaires are handed out through internet(valid return rate is 85.5%).With the help of SPSS and Mplus, the data is analyzed, which supports most of our hypothesis: W_ICTs has positive effect on job burnout and it can be positively moderated by Perceived Segmentation Norm. For the 3 dimensions,W_ICTs is positive correlated with emotional exhaustion, uncorrelated with cynicism and negatively correlated with reducing personal accomplishment. For the 2 intermediate variables,Psychological Detachment is active and Perceived Control of Job is not.
