With the rapid development of 5G communication technology and Internet of things technology,the micro devices such as wireless radio frequency technology and sensor network are used extensively.In order to ensure the data communication security of these devices,the lightweight block cipher algorithms for resource constrained environment(chip area resource is small,energy consumption is low,storage resource is small,etc.)are emerged.However,the lightweight block cipher algorithms are vulnerable to the side channel attacks.The distinctive feature of these attacks is that the cost is rather low,but they have a fatal threat to cryptographic device(chip).Currently,it is a hot topic in academia and industry to study the new lightweight cryptography to against side channel attack and related protection methods.In this thesis,two lightweight block cipher algorithms against both the template analysis attack and correlation power analysis(CPA)attack are investigated.The main results are as follows:1.The template attack on lightweight block cipher DoT is proposed.Based on both the Hamming weight model and the S-box characteristics of DoT,a template attack on full round DoT is given by using the idea of constructing template with intermediate value.The simulation results illustrate that the 80-bit secret key can be successfully recovered by observing the input value of S-box as the middle value in template attack,where only six pieces of energy are used.It directly means that DOT cipher cannot resist the template attack.2.A CPA attack on lightweight block cipher SKINNY is presented.Based on the algorithm structure and S-box characteristics of SKINNY cipher,A CPA attack on its S-box is designed.The simulation results show the 128-bit secret key can be successfully recovered by using only about 20 pieces of energy information.It means that SKINNY cipher is vulnerable to the CPA attack.3.A Boolean mask protection method for SKINNY cipher is proposed.It is notice that the implementation of CPA attack is relatively simple,and only some simple devices are needed to implement the attack.In order to improve the security of SKINNY cipher,a Boolean mask protection method is given by adding fresh random bits by based on its algorithm structure and S-box.Moreover,the correlation power experiments are performed.The results show that the mask scheme can effectively against CPA attack.
