As an important atmospheric window frequency,the 3mm band is an important research direction in the fields of communication,radar and electronic countermeasures.Nowadays,W-band solid-state power amplifier has small output power and low efficiency,while traditional electric vacuum devices have large output power and high efficiency,but large volume and poor stability.Millimeter wave power module(MMPM),which combines TWT amplifier and solid-state amplifier,combines their advantages and is widely used in military equipment such as synthetic aperture radar,satellite communication terminal and UAV,and it`s important high power devices in high frequency range.The power equalization driving module is an important part of the MMPM.On the one hand,it provides the driving power for the later stage TWT,and on the other hand,it balances the instability of the output power caused by the gain fluctuation of the TWT.Power equalizer is the key device in power equalization driving module to solve the problem of TWT gain fluctuation.On the basis of summarizing the basic theories of power equalizer,such as classification,synthesis method and realization form,this paper puts forward three kinds of realization ways of power equalizer,and puts forward many kinds of design schemes according to each realization way and project index.Firstly,based on the coupled microstrip resonant structure,two kinds of W-band microstrip line power equalizers were designed,manufactured and tested.The in band equalization accuracy is within ± 3dB,and the equalization amount reaches 5dB.Compared with the traditional low-frequency microstrip line power equalizer with high and low impedance resonant structure,the equalizer has higher Q value and equalization accuracy,smaller size and higher integration.In addition,in order to improve Q value and equalization accuracy of equalizer,two kinds of W-band power Equalizers with waveguide structure were designed.These waveguide structure power equalizers use rectangular waveguide resonator as the resonant unit.In the small power capacity equalizer generates the notch response by loading the absorption circuit at the bottom of the rectangular resonator.and the maximum equalization amount reaches 15 dB.In the high-power equalizer,the microstrip probe and the matched absorbing load absorb the electromagnetic energy of the resonator and the maximum equalization amount reaches 14 dB.At last,based on the absorbing principle of the super material absorber,two kinds of absorbing structures were improved and put forward in this paper,and they are installed on the wide edge of the standard WR10 waveguide.Through the coupling resonance effect,the specific frequency electromagnetic wave is selected to be absorbed.the in band equalization accuracy is within ± 3dB,and the equalization amount reaches 7dB.The structure of power equalizer based on Metamaterials absorber has simple struture,which is less affected by machining and assembly errors,and the Q value and equalization accuracy are high.According to two different application requirements,two kinds of pre drive amplifier modules are designed and tested in this paper.The saturated output of the first power amplifier module is greater than 17 dBm in the working frequency band,and the saturated output of the second power amplifier module is greater than 30 dBm in the working frequency band.Finally,the power drive amplifier module is composed of the power equalizer designed before and the test is completed.The maximum output in the band of the first equalization amplifier module reaches 15 dBm,and the equalization amount reaches 7dB,which meets the requirements of the index;the maximum output in the band of the second equalization amplifier module reaches 29 dBm,and the equalization amount reaches 10 dB,which meets the requirement.
