As a new kind of power unit, the millimeter-wave power module(MMPM) plays a pivotal role in next-generation electronic warfare systems. It is the one of the most important parts in the phased array radar and other high-power devices. Millimeter-wave power module is composed by integrated power modulator, millimeter wave solid state drive modules and mini traveling wave tube amplifier three parts. It is now being widely used in a variety of military equipment, and electronic warfare systems. Millimeter-wave solid-state drive modules serve the traveling wave tube amplifier stage. It provides the required drive power and gain equalization for traveling wave tube amplifier, so as to achieve the effect of the amplitude of the signal distortion does not occur.Gain equalizer is proposed and used to solve the problem that the traveling wave tube amplifier’s gain is not flat. Good millimeter wave gain equalizer ensures solid state drive amplifier to provide accurate drive power to the appropriate TWT. And it also guarantee millimeter-wave power modules get better overall performance. Balancing accuracy and port VSWR are two important indicators of the gain equalizer to meet the requirements of these indicators are the equalizer design emphasis and difficulty.This paper presents the design of millimeter-wave gain equalizer key parameter optimization step, and as a guide the design of several gain equalizer. And we further design an 8mm solid state power driver module. This millimeter wave solid state power drive modules have reached various indicators include the accuracy power and the port VSWR.
