With the continuous development of telecommunication network and the continuous improvement of communication speed,FTTH(Fiber to The Home)has undoubtedly become the focus of the development of telecommunication service providers.Every telecommunication service provider is trying to discuss how to build a reliable optical network to carry PON(Passive Optical Network)system technology.Under the interaction of technology and market,ODN(Optical Distribution Network)network planning has become one of the key issues for major operators to reduce construction costs,improve network transmission quality and provide better services.It will involve the cost-effectiveness of construction projects and the efficiency of optical network maintenance.How to plan and design ODN network reasonably for optical signal transmission and distribution is a problem that can not be ignored in FTTH construction.However,there are still many problems in the actual ODN network construction process,such as low utilization of PON port,unreasonable splitter setting,too many active connection points,and so on,which increase the construction cost.This paper expounds the development status and development pro spects of PON network and FTTH,briefly introduces the technical principles and system classification of PON,and compares their performance;proceeds from actual cases,analyses the project requirements and design basis,determines the overall project design scheme and equipment selection;studies the problems encountered in ODN planning under typical scenarios,and proposes solutions to the problems.The paper takes ODN actual project as an example,from high-level to low-level sequence,and combines the actual situation of the project to plan and design step by step to solve the ODN planning problems encountered in the actual project planning,summarizes a set of solutions,and forms FTTH project construction scheme according to the characteristics of the case.The paper also estimates and tests the performance of ODN network in the case to verify the feasibility of the design planning method.
