The issue of "China-US economic and trade frictions",which is a major international economic dispute, has attracted the attention of global media. It has not only become the focus of reporting in China's mainstream financial media, but also the Western media. This article uses the "21st Century Business Herald" and "The Wall Street Journal" as examples, and selects the news reports on the key nodes of the "China-US economic and trade friction" during the period from March 22,2018 to January 16,2020.sample.From the aspects of reporting time and quantity, genre, subject, field, level, source and tendency, the text content is compared and analyzed, and the case studies of typical texts are used to conclude the characteristics of the reporting framework presented by the two.It is found that the financial media of China and foreign countries are affected by factors such as local social cognition, media system and culture, and there are differences in reporting on the same topic. The two construct reporting frameworks such as "clear position-firm self-defense","two-sided reminder-China is a threat to the existing order, and the United States is a defender".Financial media plays an important role in foreign-related economic events. How financial media reports in China present strategic issues is still a key issue with little research in journalism and communication. The analysis and study of the above issues are of reference significance for China's financial media to report on major international economic disputes, and at the same time it is of great significance for improving the external communication of China's financial media. It is expected to contribute to the issue of the comparison of Chinese and Western financial media reports and the combination of frame theory.
