Taking the “Hebei Workers Newspaper” as an example,this study examines the readership of the “Hebei Workers Newspaper” from the perspective of readership structure and readership expansion,providing a new exploration perspective for the expansion and research of the readership of national provincial workers newspapers.Specifically,this thesis takes the “Hebei Worker Newspaper” as the study object,mainly using the methods of literature research,social investigation and statistical analysis,etc.,to explore and study the structure,attributes,characteristics and reading characteristics of the readership of this newspaper from the starting point of historical development trajectory,the issuing data of the past five years,the production and value realization of news products of this newspaper,and propose new strategies including but not limited to policy support and promote the readership expansion of this newspaper relying mainly on the power of news products based on the development situation of the national newspaper industry,and the new historical mission and development background of the workers newspapers,which has certain reference and research value for promoting workers newspapers to run the newspaper following the news law and fulfilling their duties and responsibilities,and for enriching and perfecting the audience theory.In this thesis,by preliminary revealing the issuing boundary and composition dimensions of the newspaper,the basic structure,basic attributes,and the reading needs characteristics of the readership,and the problems affecting the reading needs satisfaction and evaluation experience of the newspaper readership,the research of specific expansion strategies including the directions and methods of readership expansion are proposed,providing a new perspective and idea for achieving the ultimate goal of this thesis: follow the audience theory of news communication,and for the research of the enrichment and development of audience theory.This study achieves new discoveries.Research discoveries:(1)No precedents are found over this project in the research papers and reports of the national provincial workers newspapers.The data and analysis as well as the research perspectives obtained bear certain reference significance to the workers newspapers.(2)In addition to industrial workers,the core audience of the target readers,there are also a certain scale of social readers among the readership of the newspaper.(3)The problem that workers newspapers cannot reach union members and workers effectively is still relatively serious as the conditions and environments for workers to read newspapers are not guaranteed by laws and systems.(4)The characteristics of reader attributes and reading needs are both affected and changed by the relationship between human and nature as well as human and society.(5)Although the workers newspapers can maintain its survival though system resources,the development space will be suppressed,and the repositioning of content orientation is the main problem of development.(6)The core audience of workers newspapers has a certain special characteristics.It is necessary to pay full attention to the impact of the field and habits.The newspaper text also needs to be adjusted by referring to the field rules,and focuses on improvement of the audience evaluation,the demands and responses of the core audience,and the adjustment of the text voice,which will become a significant force to promote the newspaper to achieve stable and long-term development under the premise of respecting the news law.
